Position

Spilia-Kourdali are located in the centre of Cyprus, at the northwestern part of the mountain region of Madari. This is the starting point of the Troodos mountain region. Administratively, both villages belong to the Lefkosia District and border with the Lemesos District. Spilia – Kourdali belong to the picturesque valley of Solia. They are about 65 kilometres away from Lefkosia, 55 from Lemesos and 15 from the Troodos square.

The main entrance to the community begins from the interurban road which leads from Lefkosia to Troodos, after Kakopetria and before the Platania Forest Station. There are also three asphalted roads which lead towards Spilia-Kourdali: one of them is through the village of Agios Theodoros of Solea, the second one is through the village of Kannavia and the third one through the village of Kyperounta. There are also two dirt-roads: The first one connects Spilia with the village of Lagoudera and the other one with Asinou. The route from all five roads is spectacular; virgin forests with varied vegetation but with the pine tree and ‘latzia’ as the dominating ones. From certain heights of some of the routes, one can look against Lefkosia and all the way to the Morphou bay.
